I had spent many years thinking vaguely about a traverse of the Pyrenees. With my love of snow i decided to try winter 2019./20 The preparation for the trip whilst traveling in South America was a huge challenge, but with lots of effort all was ready. Unfortunately winter 2019/20 was the worst the Pyrenees have had in 80 years, not a good start. As I set off in March the conditions changed from too stable (no snow), to constantly unsettled with lots of snow. After 5 days on the trip it became apparent it was just to unsafe to continue and the trip had to be halted.
